well am a rapid almost a 1000 elo player, i try to play kings pawn and develop both horses and try to win the d4 square, i play this with both sides its like scotch. but most of the time after i have developed my pieces, sometimes other player has and sometimes not, but dont know how to push pawn generally it feels like all move i make are bad when there is opposite sides castling and push my pawn on the side i have not castled, stockfish does not approve of that i dont know what to do. the times stockfish says i made a bad move when i move my pawns it is annoying so i dont move my pawns and just simplify many games not always but it occures a lot of times that i many pawns at their starting square

all and all i want some pawn tips any are appreciated

thank you,

I am not an expert but I think you might need this first if you want to know how to use pawns properly. Pawn Structures

Think about this before pushing a pawn;1.pawn structures. Keep an eye on the pawn structure that your pawnpush will have modificated(the opponent’s one too,of course).2.piece activity;does your pawnpush free or block your pieces?same question for your opponent.3.utility;think about why you’re gonna push a pawn and if it’s useful:it’s important !4.i,m going to capitalize because it’s important:PAWNS DO NOT GO BACKWARDS !YOU CAN’T TAKE BACK A WEAK PAWN!

"1000 elo" ++ Then blunder checking before moving is important

"kings pawn" ++ Good

"develop both horses" ++ Good

"try to win the d4 square" ++ Good

"how to push pawn" ++ Be careful with pawn moves: pawns cannot go back. Only push a pawn to accomplish something: drive a piece away, gain a pawn, create a passed pawn...

"all move i make are bad" ++ Study your lost games

"when there is opposite sides castling and push my pawn on the side i have not castled"
++ Those are sharp games. You have to balance attack and defense and always keep an eye on the center.

"i many pawns at their starting square" ++ That is not bad.

read Pawn Power in Chess by Hans Kmoch.

read it a couple of times. each time you will pick up something that you may not have really understood the first time.

Pawn moves can be very complicated cause they affect everything else in the game.

thanks dude i try and study my games but i generally forget about the mistake, cuz i dont play frequently enough to remember it all and take frequently take long breaks due to which i forget about those mistakes

i thought it was really bad that i did not move my pawns enough so thanks
