Chess is a mind game . This must be remembered.

Chess is a war field . This must be remembered.

I agree with what Mikhali tal ,one of the best chess players of all times said.

By this he means that chess not only depends on correct moves but also our mind stress and knowing about the opponent's mind.

NOW LETS COME TO THE TOPIC . HOW TO THINK LIKE A GRAND MASTER ?????

A question frequently asked by many players. It includes me too .

Grand masters usually keep their mind concentrated . they have the ability to do a deep analysis .

they do so by attaining the ability of CONCENTRATION.

NOW LETS SEE  SOME CLASSIC POSITIONS

POSITION 1 :

A complicaled position  where WHITE WINS

POSITION 2 : BLACK TO PLAY

I WAS ABLE TO GIVE THE BEST I COULD IN THIS ARTILE .

SORRY THE FIRST POSITION IS WHITE TO PLAY

AND SECOND IS BLACK TO PLAY

Thanks for the post!

I would point out that I've coached good chess players and good athletes and in both cases they concentrate on what they are doing but they tend to stay calm as they execute their moves. You may see American Football players flexing muscles and celebrating after a big play, but BEFORE and during the play, even defensive linemen are calmly thinking about offensive line shifts, stunts, and swim moves to get past their opponents.

Additionally, note that the grandmasters recognize patterns so well they often are only thinking a couple moves ahead because they know what the patterns lead to.  People like me might spend several minutes finding the right order of moves in a combination a grandmaster instantly recognizes.
