How to use the Tactics Trainer

I've just written a blog post about how to use the Tactics Trainer in a better way, than simply bashing through the problems. It works great for me, so I hope others will find it useful as well.

Here it is: How to use the Tactics Trainer

Let me know what you think. Smile

Pretty good idea. Another member recently mentioned writing down all the missed problems and going over them at a later time. I think just going over them after 25 problems would be good but I think going back a week our two later would show if you really retained the pattern.

I wish there was an easier way to do it though, rather than manually.

I copy and paste into Notepad each set of 25 problems. For these patterns to go into long term memory, repetition is key. I don't know the exact number, and some have better memories than others. One of my elementary age music students has photographic memory, and I tested her. She really has it! I suffer from C.R.S. (Can't Remember Sh*t).

I need to see a problem several hundred times before it sticks for good. So, a few repetitions on each problem won't be enough for me.

Yes, it's certainly a good idea to go over the problems again at later times (plural!). However, the first "print to memory" needs to be solid, and for this, I think this does the job pretty well.
