for the most part the skill transfers over, but i feel like when i play otb games i miss stuff i would have never missed in an online game.
How well does online chess training transfer to OTB?

I can guide you on how to invest and make cool money online from the comfort of your home. All you have to do is register You can click on the link below to see for yourself
this is probably a scam

In terms of chess skill, it will generally transfer over, but there are a few things which will take a little more time to develop and would be of good use to practice:
- Playing on a 3D board as opposed to a 2D board.
- Touch move rule (if you touch a piece in an OTB game, you have to move it!)
- You have to physically press the clock (as opposed to online where this is done automatically).
- In classical games (not rapid/blitz) you are required to write down the moves.

"How well does online chess training translate to over the board?"
++ Most of it transfers. However
1) Time control over the board is usually monger like 90|30 instead of 15|10.
2) As a result it is physically more exhausting to maintain concentration for 4 hours
3) Because of the longer time you have to calculate deeper. What works online may not work over the board as the opponent has more time.
4) Over the board you see your opponent and his nonverbal communication like how he sits in his chair, what part of the board he looks at, how he plays his moves, how he presses the clock, how he writes the moves... This can be intimidating psychologically.
"Would it be better to train over the board now"
++ Yes, if you can. Also train longer time controls.
I started playing chess about two years ago and I started taking it seriously probably 6 months ago. I’ve mainly been using online PDF books and various chess websites to learn. I use Chess vision for diagrams in the chess PDFs. How well does online chess training translate to over the board? I eventually wanna play some tournaments when I feel I’m good enough. Would it be better to train over the board now even though I don’t really play over the board ever currently?
Apologies if this has been asked before.
