I am scared if I am banned if I report someone wrongly.

I think someone is cheating as he is a 600-rated player and he has accuracy is higher that 90. THe problem is ,if I report him but he never cheated, will I get banned?

icecwream

He had 2 brilliant moves and his rating is 600.

blueemu

A single game means nothing. A brilliant move means nothing. Even a stopped clock is correct twice a day.

The Cheat Detection Team doesn't rely on looking at one move or at one game to find cheaters.

...

Having said that, no, you won't get banned for reporting someone who turns out to be innocent. If you suspect cheating, report them. At worst, you'll look silly.

If somebody has a consistent history of falsely reporting people, again and again, THEN they might get banned since they are clearly just using the report function as a way of harrassing their opponents.

His accuracy for most games is more than 90 percent.

blueemu

So report him.

You are in absolutely no danger of being banned for doing so.

Be afraid, be VERY afraid! Do not ever take these things lightly.

I_AM_WINNER_SP

That is ok even they did not cheat you will not get 🚫🚫

chekagain

i just report anyone i suspect of cheating and nothing has ever happened to me

I_AM_WINNER_SP

Don't report all the time when the detection happens and no cheating for a long time then you would might get banned. So please only report when they are suspicious and the accuracy is above 90 and the win rate is above 100.

I usually get 90+ accuracy every game and I’m a 600 too

If I'm not wrong, you just recently got a game with 50 accuracy. There ain't no way you get 90+ every time buddy. Occasionally is a better term.

I_AM_WINNER_SP

And the win rate

Okay but why are you happy thet we will get banned?

lemaudit1

What the OP isn't considering is that possibly this 600-rating guy might be new to Chess.com, and that he may have already been a much better player beforehand. **it takes time for one's rating to adjust to one's actual playing strength**

rooksb4

I did it once on accident a while back (misclick.) Wouldn't worry. Just think next time.

No, you won't be banned. You should report anyone you suspect as violating chess.com's Fair Play Policy. When you report, chess.com Staff looks into it and then takes appropriate action. There is no harm in reporting someone you suspect; just make sure to not name them in the public forum threads and to also not discuss cheating in the public forum threads.

As mentioned, you can discuss cheating (including creating forum threads) in this club though: https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum
