I have no teacher who teaches me chess, i have no money to pay and learn or by chess books (Parents don't allow me cuz they do not appreciate chess Much)

I was 200 rated few months ago, So instead of giving up i started learning by vedeos, and playing hundreds of games against 3200 engine to understaand a best move , how to punish mistake and blunders  and i had a good win rate, from 200 i increased to 1614 so i thought i am increasing my skills.... But it was an illusion.. I kept on losing almost every game i played today and went back 1400..

I don't know what is wrong with me, ever since i lost the game today due to power cut, i kept on losing, That is what i meant by self learned bro... Anyway you are right.. I am just playing for fun now

Jamal_2310

I understand how you feel about losing today, but I seriously doubt you lost all your skill in such a short time. Today could just be your unlucky day; tomorrow's a different day. Oh, and I know you probably said it out of frustration, but you can't be the 'worst chess player' if your level is 1400... there are many worse players than that.

It's completely alright to feel this way, maybe you're in a slump. Play a couple of games each day, regardless of the result. Analyze them afterward, and find the spot where you let your opponent get an advantage.

Playing chess just for fun is also respected! But if you have come this far, don't give it all away. I know it seems like the universe is against you but I struggled very hard to get to 2200. I had many hard tilts, but I learned and I implemented new techniques. The world is not against you!

HowardRoark24

It is weird how chess can tilt you just like poker or black jack can.  Same exact feeling except losing in chess is cheaper.  Now stop your btchn. It's just chess,.

Lord_V-6,  When people read your post they will want to comfort you. They will tell you lies about how if you just hang in there, you'll get to 1800 and higher. They are trying to be nice and help you. Their hearts are in the right place. Unfortunately, they don't realize that what you really need is not compassion, but the kind of honesty that can only come from a friend who really cares.
The sad truth is that life really isn't worth living if you can't get to 1800. Some people can get by with 1700, but it involves a lot of drinking and denial. I've even seen people survive at 1600, but it's not pretty.
So, I don't have a clue what you're going to do, but maybe you can find a friend who really cares and ask them.

Thanks but i guess  should improve my calculations.... in most of game i play i realized i see an attack and then going for it, so i get a winning position but later i miscalculate and blunder or do serious mistake to turn the game upside down... i feel like to throw the laptop over the window then lol, anyway thanks
