At the risk of sounding like Bacon, is there any other skill where you'd expect to get better after doing it as fast and sloppy as possible?
Of course not.
This shouldn't even be a question.

Other than doing tactics slowly, accurately, and carefully, and reviewing missed tactics a few days later, you should study all parts of the game.
After focusing on endgames my tactics improved. Endgames, more than any other phase of the game, stress piece activity. Also in endgames you calculate a lot. So with piece activity and calculation it makes sense that my tactics would improve.
But whatever you do (endgames or tactics or something else) you have to actually work at it. Puzzle rush isn't work, it's a game for kids. Even less than that. It's a cheap & easy source of revenue for Erik.

I don't only play puzzle rush, I also do regular tactics and calculate the entire lines on those. I never really studied endgames so I guess ill put some time into it, thanks.
Yes stiffler is probably right, by all accounts it is starting to sound like puzzle rush is the crack of chess. Probably best to leave it alone and study everything else and come back to it with less respect for it.
If you can't you might need rehab.
Lol I actually just ended my premium membership so I only get one puzzle rush per day, I've been in bed for a week having seizures. I'll be clean soon.
That's because Puzzle Rush difficulty goes up way too quickly. Improving from 10 to 20 is pretty easy - just practice enough and you'll be there soon.
But going from 25 to 35 is a lot harder, and going from 35 to 40 is way more difficult.
Like, of the first 25 tactics, most of them are 1-3 move combo's, and then after ~30 you start getting these insane endgame studies and very hard to spot tactics.
That's why Hikaru can get 40 score in 2 minutes, but can barely get 10 more in the remaining 3.
Just one more thing that's broken about Puzzle Rush, apart from the fact that they aren't purely classical puzzles, which means you can play a completely winning move and still fail.
I am wondering how is it possible to have such high blitz and especially bullet rating but not be able to past 30 on puzzle rush.
Can you teach me how improve in bullet?

I only do 5m timed, I could get much further if I did survival. Also, my bullet sucks, I've seen many players in the 1700 blitz range have 1800+ bullet.
Maybe you suck
I do suck
...in the past, but not now.
35 is a very remarkable score in which perhaps more than 80 percent of the population (I think) cannot attain at all.

You must be accurate. precise and fast.
If you miss the target even by a bit (i.e. blunder often) or panick when trying to shoot (panick in time trouble), then it's hard to become a marksman (bullet master).
I just wanted to point out that when people like me learn life when they are starting to get old, you may never gain that much speed. For all the people reading this thread that feel like aliens xD
But yeh apparently learning chess properly at a young age really changes the pathways in your brain. For the better we hope!
My tactics in general haven't improved in a year plus, I don't know how to get better at them. Oddly my first ever attempt at puzzle rush was 32, but since then I've only gotten 30-31 about 10 times out of my 700+ attempts. It seems just doing tactics isnt making me any better at them anymore, any advice?
