I am proud of me (I know, it sounds narcissitic!)!! I defeated a WFM. Here is the game-

A WFM with a rating of 1629... Kids at my chessclub have higher ratings.

Ignore what the fellow said trying to disparage this win.    I never beat a WFM.  So I certainly respect what you accomplished !

1629 isnt that high. I'm not sure why you'd question him with "have you seen his rating". Maybe if he was claiming people as his chess club are 2629... lol...

There are a lot of people here who just play local (so no titles) who are 1600-1800. What's so hard about believing a claim that kids at his chess club are 1629?

Someone who cant even read the right players on the correct side of the board should really think about... being critical. HE had the backrank mate, which is why SHE resigned. She did not have a backrank mate in 1, as per your ORIGINAL comment.

My rating OTB is about 1200. And, that actually puts me in the top half of most of the beginners classes I go to. 1600 is still a "casual" level of chess, not at all that unbelievable.

If you even play chess, you'd know that 1600 isnt that high at all. Once you get to 2000, then that's what I could consider to be "high".

You've barely played any games on this site. Your rating OTB could be like 800, so I wouldnt even talk about my low rating.

Woman FIDE Master (WFM)[edit]

The WFM title is just above Woman Candidate Master in the women-only titles given by FIDE. The minimum rating for receiving this title is 2100 and is lower than that of its unrestricted counterpart, FIDE Master (2300).

The November 2011 FIDE rating list records 1126 women holding the WFM title.^[5]

Makes one wonder how she got that title ? !  She certainly doesnt have the rating to justify it ....

Well, African titles are of lower standard than the norm. There, I said it.

A 1495 Fide rating probably is good enough to get "African WFM" title, I guess (Referring to her Profile Page).

South Africa just gained their first GM recently, and the guy is like 2390 rating. He never achieved 2500 in his life....
