I feel it is mysterious, tense and tricky.
I hate chess
I like problem solving. In chess, even bad moves are seemingly supported by logic, and good moves can have bad points about them too, so all the time you're second guessing your judgement and looking for exceptions... and after you use your knowledge and ability to give the best answer you can, you get to see the answer played out in front of you as 5, 10, 20 moves later you realize you (or your opponent) made an error. Sometimes the answers are very surprising, which is a delight.
I like how molo1 summed it up.

There's also the satisfaction of seeing personal improvement after working hard. Even if you lose, you can tell you were able to solve things you wouldn't have previously. Or when you win a very clean game, and everything that's supposed to work for you, does work, that's very satisfying.

i thought exacly the same. I was bad, slow, did not know what to do. Chess was extremely boring.
Then i discovered bullet chess. I was beating everybody and quickly made it above 1500. I found i had potencial and started to play more and more here i am now, still improving and enjoying

I joined to ask you all: What do you like about this
game? It's horrible. Complicated, slow and
repetitive.
Exactly, that's what we like about it... You just described it yourself....
Cheers

99, I don't see where you have played one game of chess?
Complicated? If you understand more than your opponent thats all you need for a win. If not you should learn something.
Slow? you can make the time limits any thing you want.
I wonder if you have given chess a chance.

The man who says "no" to chess says "no" to life.
That makes no sense.
Say no to Macer75, it's sensible.

Curious as to what the 99 bottles contained. Especially when a new account that has played no chess here complains.
