I'm not crazy....that was mean😒
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll make sure not to go crazy.
use what defeats you as your new weapon ,
learn the opening your brother is using against you , when you change colours for the next game ,,,,make him face it ,,,, you can then either learn how to defend against it if he still wins , or make him have to make a new plan to not give away so easily what he knows ,
either way this will give a small psychological edge , and as chess is a game of the mind this may prove helpful
- Try to put more pawns than he does on the four center squares
- Get every piece except the king and rooks off the back row before going on any big adventures
- Get your rooks to open files
- Check BEFORE you make a move whether it will be safe (lose material, hang checkmate)
- Learn some checkmate patterns
- Learn some tactical patterns
People at the absolute base level (where they know the rules but nothing else) can be defeated by simply taking free pieces and putting free checkmates on the board. Your tactics rating is below 1000...that means you're just letting people take things. Fix that, and your brother won't stand a chance
How old is your brother and what is his rating?
If he's <1500 rating then there's no reason why you can't keep improving your own chess skills until you can beat him.
But if your brother is already an FM then it's going to take you a very long time to catch up, if you ever do. Best to just accept that he's an amazing player and not let it get to you.

What should I do? I dislike getting beat, but at the same time it helps me improve at the game. Anyone have a good strategy?
