I am obviously biased towards Carlsen of course.

12 draws and then tiebreakers

nepo and carlsen's gameplay is equal, but carlsen's endgame is better than nepo's which is why I think Carlsen will win the championship =)

Depends on how prepared nepo is. If nepo has prepared like crazy it could be closer to 50-50 or 60-40 in Magnus favor but if he isn’t it’ll probably be more like 80-20 or 90-10 imo

Clearly Carlsen. That Nepo is a noob

14 draws. Tiebreakers. Then Armageddon goes for 686 moves. Both players fall asleep at the same time.

Nepo will of course go into it well-prepped.

Carlsen will stroll to the board with minimal prep, confident in his ability to play well from any position.

I agree with others who've said that the real test will come as the games get closer to the endgame. Even in dry, even endings, Carlsen has a knack for squeezing blood from a stone.

Carlsen carlsen

Nepo did win Carlsen at the 2011 Tata Steel tournament and the 2017 London Chess Classic

I would say heaps of people are completely biased towards Carlsen like me, i would say nepo would have a chance considering that he is alegible for the Championships

Chrismoonster

Ian Nepo has a chance of winning the title, he has a good head to head record against Magnus. However, I think Magnus has a better chance of retaining his championship. If in doubt back the champion.

I am pulling for Nepo. Nothing against Carlsen but I want to see a contested championship. Kasparov and Karpov didn't actually trade the title back and forth but they might as well have they were so close.

So Nepo does have supporters

I think Nepo might be an objectively slightly weaker player than Caruana and Karjakin, but he is definitely more unpredictable and fun to watch, so the match will be anything but a snoozefest.
