Hello noodlex. I am not sure about ICC teachers but we do have a fine collection of chess teachers here on Chess.com at http://www.chess.com/coaches?sortby=view_count
ICC chess teacher recommendation?

It'd be nice if chess.com could facilitate payment to coaches too. I must say that I am once again very close to getting a membership at ICC for this reason. I want a regular coach, one who is relatively inexpensive. Yet, despite such teachers being out there, and willing to coach me, the last hurdle is getting payment to them. Via paypal is not possible, moneybookers either; payment through ICC is possible however. I asked about this six months ago and someone said no, but perhaps you have reconsidered?

absolutely in our plans! the first phase (good teaching environment in live chess) is almost ready!

Hello. I'm currently looking for a chess teacher on ICC. I briefly glanced through the ICC Teachers list but it seems like there are so many good teachers; I don't know how to choose one. I read the brief information below but they all seem to say the same thing.
So I'm wondering if any of you guys have any recommendations for a good ICC chess teacher. I'm rated about 1800 OTB USCF. I play the Queen's Gambit as White and Slav / e5 as Black. Thank you.
Dan Heisman (PhillyTutor) is by far the best, but he is $75-$80 per hour. I actually met a FM on the ICC while playing in a 45 45 game, and I found in his notes that he offered lessons (@ $15 per hour), and I've been happily taking weekly lessons ever since. Otherwise I'd ask around the ICC and hear from members that took lessons and find out who they liked and disliked.

I use Tom O'donnell an IM on ICC (tomohawk is his handle). He charges 20 dollars (or chekels) an hour and many times goes over at no extra cost. He has me annotate games I play (preferably losses), submit them at some point before the lesson, then he goes over them at lesson time pointing out strengths and weakness in my games. I've definitely seen improvement in my game. He also likes to use Skype, as actual talking allows much more training in the allotted hour than typing out what you say. You can take as many, or as few lessons as you want. Pay by the lesson as you go. I'm sure he would do a trial lesson if you wanted to see how it all works.
Good luck with whoever you decide to use!

His finger notes say that he mostly teaches to children, I might give him a try but I'd feel weird being a 19 year old getting lessons from a coach who teaches children.

Well, I'm 43, and don't feel weird about it at all. He does teach at a lot of chess camps for kids etc. thus the younger majority. I should point out that some of these kids he teaches are rated much higher than you and I
Either way, best of luck with your choice.
Erik, on the same topic of teaching here on chess.com, what are the odds that along with a teaching environment we may also see some review options on the game boards? i.e, after a game you can back up and try out variations on the board allowing both you and your opponent to see the new lines (then be able to revert to actual game) etc? That would be an awesome learning/training tool also.

They're getting that kind of teaching board ready here. I too wonder if after a game whether the board will turn into a teaching board/viewable by both or what. Perhaps as an option that both people select? I second the desire to revert to the actual game, although simply reloading the page has done the trick for me in the past.

I'm sure you've seen it already, but the analysis board on chess.com is available after the game now, along with voice integration.
I've not tried the voice part yet, anybody else?

Haven't tried the voice thing either. But so far everytime I've tried to use the analysis board, I've had problems. It works for replaying a game as is, but as soon as you make a few alternate moves and then try to return to the original line/game it clears ALL the moves leaving you with no moves from the game. Very frustrating.
