If I resign against insufficient will it be a draw?

I played with a guy who was cursing and later he forked my king and queen with his horse

so there were only 4 pieces in the board, he just had to take my queen , making it a draw (insufficient), but he wanted me to resign so waited for 15minutes before capturing my queen and making it a draw.   So if I had resigned ( he only had king and horse ) would it be a draw?

Resignations are losses, regardless.

A resign is a loss but at another website if your opponent doesn't have enough material to checkmate then you can't lose on time. They count it as a draw.

ultimatepandaofchess

can we make it when your opponent has insuficent material the resign button disappears?

Do you not like to use your brain when you play ?

No you would have lost.

Same rule here. The OP is talking about resignation

It is an unfortunate aspect of online chess that an... unscrupulous... opponent in a clearly lost or completely drawn position can hang around and make you wait for the eventual outcome. Hoping that you will get fed up and resign/break off. Some sites try to spot this and warn the player. Often, if you want the draw/win you have to wait around. E.g. This situation with King and Knight only facing you, it is often the case that mate IS possible by the team that is behind, so if they do jot agree to your draw offers, you have to wait it out... it may wirk to yoir advantage on occasion.

I think when opp has insufficient there should be a "Draw" button, not a half draw, because it is impossible to lose.

What on earth is a "half draw"?

The OP had K+Q...his opponent had K+N. The opponent could never have won the game due to insufficient material.

To the OP.... in your shoes I would have logged off. You opponent could not have won by abandonment

a half draw is the button where you ask your opponent for a draw and they agree. I think with opponent having insufficient material the opponent shouldn't be asked, it should be drawn by just one person

Uhhhh doesn't the game automatically become a draw if both players have insufficient material?

krazeechess

Plus, if you lose on time but your opponent has insufficient material, doesn't it count it as a draw?

You are missing the point. The game was only drawn through insufficient material after the opponent made the move NxQ. Until that point the game was  winnable by the OP (K+Q), even though extremely unlikely

It does. This happened after the opponent played NxQ

It does. This would have happened if the OP had let his time run out.

His question is not about any of these things however...he asked what would happen if he resigned.

I think in such a case a player can still win by abandonment. I certainly wouldn't suggest testing it.
