Nice idea, but there should be more analysis for both games. Is there a forced checkmate if you play white?

I just had to pit Houdini 4 agaist iself in this position. Whoever gets to move first wins. Here is a blitz game where white gets the first move.

I guess we solved chess minus the pawns. White wins. What if we each had extra row of pawns?

Knights would certainly be worth more than bishops.
