But unlike them, I'll probably get my account shut down. I have a good excuse though - I'm trying to improve. Improvement is measured in wins, right? I have never put so much time into anything and actually gotten worse. I just played a 950 rated player (?!) with the most unimaginative game plan ever: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Nc3 Nf6 the 4 knights is on the board 4. Bc4 Bc5 its an Italian game 5. O-O d6 6. d3 Bg4 7. Be3 Bxe3 black pins the knight to the queen and white trades off the dark square bishops for the semi open f-file. 8. fxe3 O-O 9. h3 Bxf3 10. Qxf3 I probably shouldn't have traded off the other bishop for the knight. Now he has a battery on a semi open file and his plan is very simple, just ram it home. a6 11. Nd5 Nxd5 12. Bxd5 bishop on d5 ends up being really strong Qe8. prevents mate 13. Rf2 Kh8 14. Raf1 f6 15. Qg4 Rb8 16. Rf3 Ne7 17. Rg3 h5 18. Qxg7# 1-0 Practiced chess for a year and got *worse*. Is anyone successfully utilizing any chess reaoyrces or am I just mentally disabled?

Would you be offended if I said it was both?

I always go for 4...Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bxd5 Qxd5 7.Nc3 and engine says -1.5 or 4...Nxe4 5.Bxf7 -1,7

 you get to play d5.

Are you sure you're actually studying chess and actively trying to get better or are you just playing some games each day and claiming that is "practicing chess"?

Anyone who's a cheater at 900 rating isn't even good at cheating. They might as well keep cheating.

I praise them, report them, and forget about them

Cheating doesn’t help you improve lol. You learn more from a loss than a win if you actually analyze your games

There are in fact a lot of cheaters, most of them obvious, and the worst part is that chess.com claims they care about fairplay but don't do jacksh.it when you report the cheaters.

However, there are a lot of 1200-2000 that start accounts with lower rating to sandbag <1000 opponents

sndeww

nah they definitely get the cheaters, at least the ones i report

Kapivarovskic

Well I reported this one dude a couple of times  for the past 3 weeks who is obviously cheating and nothing. There was another dude who I knew was cheating and same thing happened, he only got banned after I messaged the people he played telling them they should report him because they were cheated and then he finally got banned. But I am sure that if it wasn't for me he wouldn't have gotten banned, at least not so soon.

So why do I have to get out of my way for chess.com to do their job? Chess.com has algorithms and teams of people working on that and yet some peasant like me - a patzer - is able to do what they can't: an easy simple job. So they are either very incompetent or very dishonest.

I don't throw cheating accusations out in the wind unless I am sure of it, as is this case. As was the other one.

I know they'll ban a cheater or two every now and then to pretend like they care and that they are doing their job. I've gotten notifications about opponents "violating fair play policy" ... but it's usually when a titled player reports them... you're high rated enough where these dudes might have cheated some CMs and NMs and it got chess.com attention.

I don't even care about my rating points I just think it's outrageous that such an obvious cheater is still playing... but anyways,  to compliment where compliment is due - on the plus side I got 15 days free of diamond membership for reporting a bug

Breh I been for a year and got worse, but what? Don't cheat.

NikkiLikeChikki

There is exceedingly little cheating at low ratings. Think about it, if you’re going to cheat with a new account, you’re going to start the account saying you’re advanced and will begin with a high rating. Before you get banned, you will win several games and be over 2000 easy. Cheating below 1000 is extremely rare.

vineet199

People cheat at 400 level too.

StumpyBlitzer

Hi,

If your suspicious of anyone please report them, please don't talk about cheating in the general forums,

https://support.chess.com/article/209-how-do-i-report-someone

There is a cheating forum where you can discuss these things
