Hi guys, if you've seen my other forums or me, that's pretty cool so yesterday I joined the chess club as I said in my other forum. Basically, we stay after school on every Thursday for an hour and I played my first IRL match. I don't have it since I really didn't record the moves or anything, sorry. Anyways, I did really good, long story short it took an hour because my opponent was really stubborn when I had two queens and they had nothing. They wouldn't even take defeat when I checkmated them, which was just annoying, like they weren't moving because they would lose because I would promote to a queen, rook, etc. Honestly, I get why people have times for games now. At the end of the day I had a great time, would do it again. I think that motivated me a lot. I hope you guys have a great day like I did.
Sorry for yapping.

Here is an ideal double queen mate.

I think, I won like this since he was being very bratty and making the game last, I used my king to help checkmate him.

Hey, good use of the king though! Lots of beginners wouldn't realize you could use the king to assist mate!

Yeah, I'm getting pretty good at chess. Plus I used my king even though I had two queens because he was being really annoying.

Sometimes, the best part of a game is just the experience itself, even if the opponent is a bit stubborn about losing.

Yeah.

Calling an opponent bratty and annoying is not a good look nor is being unable to checkmate with two queens and altering your style of play based on your opponent continuing when you think they should resign is risking stalemate which is probably why they carried on playing.

Not trying to put a dampener on your win but using your king to assist a checkmate when you have two queens shows you need to practice checkmate patterns and never assume your opponent should resign. Forcing a draw by stalemate in a hopeless position is a viable strategy.

They're definitely bratty if they have to move to a certain place and don't do it and wait thirty minutes trying to wait out and make it where I have to go home.
