i have not seen anyy of these games except 4 morphys
Immortal games!

my fav game here is the kasparov v.s. topalov
Yeah, that game is pretty amazing. I love how topalov's king makes it across the board in the middle of the game! There were just so many beautiful moves played! Wow! And btw, I"m not entirely sure if that Morphy game is his "immortal". A lot of times it's just called the Opera game or Morphy's Mini-game. I've seen a few more of Morphy's big time games against his so-called "competition" (a.k.a. no one since he ruled the chess arena for so long).

I think it's funny that Morphys is the most well known among beginners, but all the time you'll see 3...Bg4 being played.
I never did like Anderssen's, that was back in the day where not accepting material was wimpy, so opponent's didn't bother to ever calculate any defense, they just grabbed material and hoped to see a pretty mate at the end... even if it meant it was on their king
Tals was very pretty, I hadn't see it before.
This one of Rubinstein's I always thought was very pretty -- out of nearly a symmetrical position he finds an explosive mating attack that's just... incredible. (Ripped off of chessgames.com annotations and all)

Yeah I've seen that one b4 Honda :). I didn't even think about adding it. I was just looking at the game and I'm like "hm... I think I've seen this before!" Then i realized around move 18 that I had seen it before! Except you switch the POV so we're looking from black's side! You tricky devil !

Hehe, yeah I switched it around I'm used to playing it over from black's side so to me it just didn't look the same from white's POV.
The impressive thing about these combinations of course is how far ahead they had to go before seeing "the point" when most of us would have discarded the candidate move before going that far. So from move 20, the move 23...Rd2 isn't that far away as say Kasparov's which came 15 moves later (!!) but I've always liked this attack.

I feel like there must be a lot of opportunities for such combinations in our games as well as grandmaster games that are overlooked. But I also think that because these lines that come off of some of these games are so narrow in their plausible responses, to a grandmaster, these would be simple to calculate

I agree, for me I could show off any of these moves... even if I messed the combination up at the end and lost heh, but to a GM or GM strength player like Rubinstein, these lines wouldn't be difficult to find.

God, I recognised almost all of these games, and could identify the combination/ending just by seeing the names of the players. Maybe I really should spend more time on my chess, and less time on grandmaster games.

I saw all of those games, but they're always fun to play out. That Kasparov game is just insane, way over my head.
Many of the greatest players in history have what are considered to be an "immortal" game. Here are a few of my favorites. There's no need to look at all of them, but it would certainly not be a waste of time
.
Edit note: Please feel free to post other epic games here. But this is not a string simply for great games, this is for IMMORTAL GAMES!!!
