I have been cracking down on chess for almost a month now.  I do about 50-100 tactics trainers per day and still get only half of them correct!  Am I missing somthing?  Is there somthing more than practice that I can do? ( Im doing chess mentor and watching videos) please help! thank you :)

Your Tactics Trainer rating appears to have gone up quite a bit over the last 30 days. Maybe you're getting better but doing tougher tactics exercises.

coffeethyme has a good point, perhaps the puzzles you are doing are getting tougher.  Is there a level of difficulty attached to the puzzles?  I don't have the statistics option so I can't check.

You could hammer the tactics courses over at the ChessMentor.  I recommend GM Patrick Wolff's courses especially since he breaks it down by motif.  Because of the time pressure, the TT is more of a way to test yourself.  I think studying tactics over at the Mentor might be more productive.  Hit a course on say, forks, real hard for a few days.  Get every lesson up to 100%.  Pick another course and repeat.  After a few weeks go back and review those courses.  Still 100% ?  Probably not. Wink When you can go through the ChessMentor courses at a good rate, then go hit the TT again and see if you've improved.  Good luck!

I might be the worst chess player of all time. I get continually schooled on level 3 difficulty against the computer. I have started to develop a minuscule amount of tactical strategy using the lessons and tactics. But seriously, if anyone wants to feel good about themselves, just challenge me and you will feel like a chess master !

How much time do you devote to one puzzle? The main thing is not to gain rating points, but to understand the puzzle. After trying to make a puzzle in TT you can check it in the diagram tool. That is very good tool to analyze the puzzle with no time pressure.

Repetition is the path, not just do exercices. So stay with 100 exercices, do it ad nauseum and choose other 100..... TT is good for evaluation. Not to learn. You are diamond so you can try to fork the elo exercices, but it works less than stay with the same 100 exercices.
