increasing my rating

I have an account on my iPhone and my son has one on my iPad If I play both sides and keep beating him how long will it take to get a decent rating?

Depends on how high of a rating your son is at. And by decent if you mean 1300-1500, I think his rating will be down to 300 before you can get there.

Only if you are desperate, you can make a lot of random accounts and just start winning there. You can comepletly forget about those accounts later.

Yeah it must be a very good idea.

You get overranked, then when you need to play any game you will lose horribly, get frustrated, give up and never play again. LOL

Being overrated is terrible! Why would you want that?

It would be a great experiance but you would obviously lose ( I would to)!

How about you climb up your way and/or parttake in online chess tournaments to get matched vs 'the big guys'? They would actually underestimate you and you'd have real chance to prove you are "the Rocky of chess" :)

The sense of rating here is to match players so that you can play with an appropriate opponent. If you make progress and your rating grows it is an achievement. But if you just get a higher rating record in some way - it can make fun, but it actually doesn't help you to play chess.

Why do you consider playing against a titled player to be such a privilege, frostbite? You probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that game and one against somebody with a rating similar to that of my own.
