indirect preparations

I actually played a similar tournament just last weekend! One good thing is that even though there are no breaks, you are unlikely to play out each and every game to a double flag fall. I I was paired up with a far weaker opponent, we'd finish within 45 minutes and I could use the the other 45 minutes to take a walk and buy some lunch (though it's probably better to plan ahead and bring a packed one, because you can't know whether you'll be paired with that loses-queen-in-5th-move guy just around lunchtime.
The endgames are great preparation-I'd often have only ten or so minutes to win a won endgame.
Your training regimen sound perfect, so let's go over D-day.
1. Have your lunch, a few snacks, and most importantly: plenty of water. Dehydration is the enemy!
2. Dress in layers, be prepared for a playing hall of any temperature known to man.
3. Bring an mp3 player or some other activity that will help you relax between rounds (I repeat, there will be some time. It's unlikely your board will always be the one to finish last).
4. Try not to blitz, but don't spend more than 5 minutes on any move. However, always run through a virtual checklist (why did he make that move, does this move unprotect any of my pieces, can I or my opponent give any checks) before moving. 2x45 min isn't much, but you shouldn't be playing it like 2x5 min.

GOOD LUCK IN THE TOURNAMENT : I am returning to OTB tournament play after 23 years , The time controls are much shorter nowadays which makes very nervous. would like to thank the OP and those posting for some excellant advice !!

does doing that amount of puzzles take all day? what level of difficulty are they or are they random.

Careful chessmaster102, judging from your response it seems like you've misinterpreted TeamRybka's post. Akin to listening seriously to the dishevled man who never leaves the bus whose ramblings, when audible, can only be described as "bizzaro".

Im preparing for a tournament that last from 10am-4pm with no breaks! with a time control of 45min each game. Heres how i'm getting ready.
Im playing 45min games every chance i get. I'm trying to play as many diffrent styles as possible or diffrent ratings. I'm exercising 30min a day 4 days a week. I'm mainly going thru jrobi chess natches on youtube I like his commentary and he's playing at the level of everyone else I'm going to be playing. I'm going thru silmans complete endgame course. I'm doing 10 chess puzzles a day everyday. I'm also going thru a few of philidors games but I was doing that anyway. Anything else.
