For my part, I don't think anything besides a tournament time control (i.e. 60/30 or 90/30) can properly prepare you for a tournament time control 😬🙃😂
Is 15/10 too fast for tournament practice?

Yeah but the problem with playing those time controls online is first it can take forever to get a seek, and second there's a good chance your opponent will mess with you and try to run down the clock in a losing position. The games can take hours! And for a lot of that time you may not even be thinking about the position. Even 45/45 is way too much time to be playing at home in my opinion. I think having a balanced time control like 30/20 is a good idea. That way you can at least play two or three practice games per day instead of just one.

I still wait like 20 minutes sometimes though when I do custom time controls. It's kind of frustrating.

Play 45/45 against LucasChess. Problem solved. Not the same as playing with humans but it will improve your concentration and calculus skills.

It's not too fast if your only goal is to practice not hanging your pieces, and if you're playing in a 30/0 tournament it's ok, but if you want to include the kind of strategy practice you need for 45, 60, or more minute games, you need to set a custom time and see if you find any takers or see if theres an open tournament doing the same.
Lately I am finding myself in time trouble or at least time pressure in 15/10 games where before I felt like it was more than enough time to move. Even with the 10 second increment I feel myself panicking and thinking more impulsively when I get under 5 minutes. I wish chess.com had a 30/20 option or 20/20, something less than 45/45 but more than 15/10 with a solid increment. Anyone else with me?
