Is Bullet Actually Chess?

The classification of Bullet Chess as true Chess is subjective. Some argue its fast pace changes the game, while others believe the core rules and objectives remain, thus it's Chess. I want to hear your opinion; do you think Bullet is Chess, or not?

ProfiMath

It's mostly how quickly can you make moves which don't let someone mate you within 1 minute lol

ALLYgaytor

No. I'll explain in monkey to you.

NO!! Bullet no chess. Chess is think. When fast too no think about move. Brain is too scared of losing no time. Brain no comprehend what happening. Make random move. If have a longer period like 3 min might be better. But bullet no chess. Hope that helped.

ALLYgaytor

That triggered my OCD, lol

This is my dumb 700 bullet opinion, but I feel like its still chess

Its just fast paced. While 600 bullet chess may look like a random chess game out of diarrhea land; when GMs play bullet, it looks like a game that 2000s play in rapid.

It does change the game, but its still chess.

WTFrickenA

Yes... and should be called ego chess

WTFrickenA

960 and 4 player's far more chess, even the only one min. and 15 sec. delay with 4 player, considering more opponents are involved than just 2. I think a proper game of live chess should at least be 15 min., but because so many are wrapped up into moving ridiculously fast its nearly impossible finding a 15 min. seek. =/

Yes it's most definitely is chess, the better you get the more bullet becomes chess when beginning it's basically you just pushing wood though, certainly gives you an advantage when playing rapid again you save a lot of time

Yes I agree

DreamscapeHorizons

No.

Next question.

doublesik

obviously its chess. you can make ideas, find tactics, do whatever (if you can't, it doesn't mean others can't as well). the only difference is that there is a clock, you can use this clock to your advantage at times

ToothStrikr

Chess is chess alright, bullet is no different. Even though there are different time sets. Also, chess.com claims it is real chess. Look at Andrew tang alright?

chesstimetravaling

Bullet might be chess; because all of the rules are still the same and all of that, but it's more monkey see monkey do. For example, if you see something that might win something there's a chance that it doesn't win something but lose something if your opponent calculates. And yes, your opponent also can crappily calculate. So technically, strategy-wise, bullet isn't chess.
