Is chess as hard as backgammon?

Backgammon has the dice involved which automatically adds a degree of luck. If you start a game with a series of doubles, the game can be over quickly. In chess, everything is based upon skill-- yours and your opponent's. To me, there is simply no comparison. Backgammon is enjoyable but simply not on the same level as chess.

If I played a game where chance is involved, I'd play poker or Texas Hold-em.
Like backgammon, it has chance, but by cards rather than dice.
The best fun is when one player goes "all-in" and you don't know if they have a good hand or are bluffing. I play based on intuition and guesswork, but the game can be studied by mathematicians, and maybe even by psychologists, since bluffing is a type of "lie" and some people just aren't good at bluffing.
I always lose, but I blame it on being dealt bad cards.
