Is chess becoming like cricket

Hello All

I've noticed that an increasing number of players have migrated from standard chess and just play blitz and bullet chess, the view being that standard is boring and takes too long. (Particularly with the highly rated players)

Are we becoming like cricket? (Interest in longer format dying with the intro of twenty20/ bullet chess)

Different world we live in.

10 minutes is pretty much the longest amount of time many people can go between checking their Facebook account.

No classical chess can never be replace by fast Blitz.

True potential of player is tested in 2 hour/ 40 moves games not in 2/3 min game.

Chess is about thinking not about playing some book move in start and then making random moves just to win by time.

And Test cricket is replaced by 50 or 20 over game because they are too long and boring in this fast time.They play 5-days just to end in draw. But not in chess. Even drawn chess games have their beauty.
