Playing daily I can no longer tell if my opponent is only. The green square is gone. Neither of us has changed any of the settings……

Hmm. If the green square is gone, he's offline.
Same here, I can no longer see my opponent's online status whilst playing. I assumed it was a new thing chess.com had introduced for whatever reason. Not so sure now, looks like it's still working fine for most

It depends if on website or in mobile App. Online status has disappeared in iPhone app, except within messages and in friends list, which still show online status correctly most of the time. This issue has been previously reported in the Site Feedback forum.

Yeah I mostly play chess on the mobile app, and status doesn’t show there. It’s not really a problem as such, I just like knowing if my opponent is online and I can expect a move. I do appreciate that just because someone is online, it doesn't necessarily mean they want to play chess. Still, hope CC will bring it back
