funny you should say that. recently I was enjoying a hot beverage in a coffee shop and a chap asked me if I wanted a game of nine men's morris and I did.
Is Nine Men's Morris dead?

Well that was probably me. Was he wearing a policeman's helmet with a parrot on his shoulder? Anyway, glad to hear it's still going strong, at least in old blighty.
Apparently it's a forced win for white if he plays his potrzebie top left of the centre square on move three. That hasn't spoilt the game for me though. I reckon Carlsen would still struggle against me on one of my good days.
When I walk up to strangers in coffee shops with my concentric squared board and playing pieces to ask for a game of Nine Men's Morris, they look at me as if I'm mad. I'm not sure why.
A quick search on Google however, reveals there is still a lot of interest on the internet, and some brilliant forums on 'The Royal Game'. And what about Euchre eh? Is that dead too? Sad day.
