Is solving a ton of puzzles going to help at my level? (2100-2200)?

I trained a lot recently with books, studying master games, but I got poor results in a recent tournament. I decided to take drastic action. Is solving puzzles 6-8 hours a day for the next 2 weeks going to make me improve past 2200 or should I focus on other areas of the game as well?

From the looks of things, you have probably almost maxed out on the puzzles side. I mean, most 2100s and 2200s would have very solid tactical backgrounds. Probably it's just that period of time where training a lot causes you to deviate from your usual play style which causes a temporary drop in playing performance.

Don't worry, I'm pretty certain your efforts will pay off in the upcoming tournaments.

My rapid rating is more than 400 points below yours, so I can't give a solid advice on training other aspects of chess.

Thanks for the advice? Is solving this many puzzles a good idea?

Hello marqumax, I would say make it simple. I grandmaster adviced my to play simple opening (I keep with it) in order to become master. He adviced me to play for instance, 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3. cxd with white. Those 5 tips by tania are also great with my previous advise https://chessbase.in/news/tania-sachdev-top-5-tips . I hope my comment satisfy you.
