Is the starting position equal ?

When neither sides have made a move, is the starting position equal for both players ? Stockfish at depth 20 says White has an advantage of + 0.1. 

White has a small advantage at the starting position but not enough to force a win. Top level players have a higher winrate with White, but top level chess engines almost always draw unless one is forced to play a suboptimal opening.

Yes nearly equal, there is a small edge for white in the starting position on today's standard, white advantage of first move is not the advantage it was in the 1930s of steinitz & Lasker etc compared to modern play blacks advances in opening understanding means there is little difference today!!?

Chess is a draw, but the path to the draw is wider for white and narrower for black.
