i know. blitz must have started as someone's joke until some people started taking it seriously. seriously blitz is all about stock ideas, removing the knight at f6, moving the queen to h5 and mate. or else, some other variants of the same kind of thing. i think it gives a wrong impression of the game where you have to fight for every little thing sometimes trading one kind of advantage for another. analyze deeply and hopefully transition to an endgame with some kind of advantage which may or may not yield a win with near perfect technique. these are the kind of things you can learn only through OTB tournaments and online chess if you treat both with respect.
Isn't blitz damaging

i left playing blitz as i didnt find it fruitful, i end up in time problems, if you are a begineer like me than my advise to you is to stay away from blitz and go for 30 min standard or say 15|10 increment, and play less games and study more
I have lately started playing online chess and am learning far more than I ever did from blitz. Now going back to blitz I find it boring and dry. People play for traps and time. Is this how chess should be played?
