New game! Smile The Smiley Joker can move like King to any direction but as long as it want to. Would be fun to play...?

TheBlunderfulPlayer

It seems interesting!

Isn't that just another queen then? Am I missing something?

You, right. I missed something :( ... I'm stupid. Maybe it can then move like Queen and Knight?

very interesting... perhaps the king is not as valuable as the joker.. you lose the joker (get jokemated) you lose the game :)

Thats better IDEA! Laughing

Win by checkmating a piece that moves like a queen would be really really difficult, queens don't get trapped that often even without using your entire army to protect it. Although you can't use your queen to trap a normal queen or it's just a trade, so that would make a difference.

Yes, you right, but maybe this is not for experts. This kind of game could be for beginners and beginners like me can do terrible mistakes and lose  the Joker :(

TheronG12

Yeah, me too. Frown

Why are the smiley faces upside down?

TheronG12

Because they aren't smiley.

Maybe joker can then move like Knight and Queen? Is there idea?

Because it is Joker! It can do almost what it wants.

TheronG12

That would make the Joker super powerful, it could checkmate by itself. It might be fun to play some games with that.

The way you've placed the pieces is also interesting, because you replace pawns, but it's not symmetrical. White has a hole in the kingside, black in the kingside. Does that maybe somewhat negate white's first-move advantage?

You said it moves like King, so that's only 1 square at a time--not like Queen.

I didn't thought that. I just placed them to little right (from players view). I think it is mentally must funnier that an ordinary pawn can be joker, not an high officer.

Yes. New rules: it moves like a Queen and! Knight at the same time. It Super Joker like in card games Joker can be anything.

TheBlunderfulPlayer

a piece that moves like a queen and a knight is called a superqueen or amazon isn't it? btw there is a chess variant where the queen is royal so is subject to check and checkmate as well, and you can win by mating either the king or queen: co regal chess :)
