maybe i hyped 1200 to much in my head; ever since i started chess.com and was given the rank of 1200 and to see it trickle away as i got my true rank of around 700. it would always make me sad seeing my highest rank (1200) was a sham and i had not earned it and it was just given to me. but now i have reached my goal and earned my 1200 , but now i feel a bit empty and the second i reached it felt apathetic towards chess, what  is the next goal ? is there a rating i can aim for ?

I think 1400. I feel there is a pretty big difference in those at 1200 and 1400.

Set your goals so that they stretch your abilities, but remain realistic. 200-point increments might fit the bill... having achieved 1200, now shoot for 1400, then re-focus on 1600, etc.

Yeah but those are ELO numbers not chess.com ratings.

Congratulations on reaching 1200.  That is, by the way, traditionally considered the minimum rating you need to hit to show you KNOW how to play chess.

Improvement from this point would grow fastest if you work primarily on recognizing tactics and their patterns.

I see you haven't done well on tactics at chess.com.

Note there are also tactics trainers at a lot of other sites that you might like.  I like chesstempo.com and chess.com far above the others, but there are also trainers at other free sites, including https://lichess.org/ , https://chess24.com/ , https://www.chesscademy.com , and https://www.chessity.com

In any case, you should memorize, over time, the Tactical and Positional Motifs on the following pages and, after solving a tactics problem, think about which tactics you used and ask yourself why it took you so long to see it. Look for the pattern of moves and positions required:

https://chesstempo.com/tactical-motifs.html

https://chesstempo.com/positional-motifs.html

if u really want to improve u should reduce on the amount of play and read chess endgames rather than tactics
