Kasparov pocket chess tries to castle while check.

Did Kasparov mess up when programming the pocket chess (or whoever used his name), or is there a rule that I just don't know about?!
A pawn attacks the king, it is not backed by other pieces but taking it is strategically undesirable (that is why I put it there) and the engine tried to castle twice...
Its a 10 level engine and I am playing at level 4 (you won't believe the waiting time, that is why I usually stick at 3...)
Is there a way to get around this or do I have to start over?

It must be a bug.

It is illegal to castle if the king is in check, passes through check, or ends up in check.

Okay I am totally confused now, I tried to take back but it says I never put the pawn there.
This engine has been confusing me for weeks by trying to move pieces that aren't there, I am starting to think something is wrong with it (first I thought it was me as I am rather distracted lately). I have another chess computer and I rarely get confusions like this with that one...
Are there any other players that have problems with the pocket chess?

Let's see if someone else has to say something...

Well Kasparov himself was never very strict with the chess rules... So why would it be different with his product?

It's definitely a bug. I've been looking into it and quite frequently it just skips the part where it indicates which piece it is moving and every time I hit "take back" to find out what's happening, it turns out it's moving a piece that doesn't exist. Or it's castling while check. I have only finished two or three games, all others failed because of this bug.
I have no idea what caused this software to act out...
