Seems your life priorities are changing. That's okay. You just need to find what you really want to do and what you do just because you like the idea of doing it. Do you play chess because you enjoy it, or just because you like the idea of "being good at chess"?
Maybe go out there beat some noobs and then teach them the ropes, you will be seen as a higher being and they will worship you this will also help you get more practise and see opportunities as they come.
If you have to force yourself to keep the flame lit, is the flame really lit? There's nothing wrong with taking a break from chess. You should play when you want to play, not because you feel like you have to.

Thanks to everybody for the suggestions, but I think Vegosiux just hit the right spot: I should've seen this coming before. I think I was just disappointed in seeing chess as a transitory passion, but I'm fine with that. It'll eventually become one of those "who cares" kind of situations.
A lotta stuff has changed lately and I'm also trying to deal with some aspects of my life I really want to improve! With everything considered, no wonder I play less and less seriously! Thanks again!!
Hi everybody, I started playing chess about 2 years ago, and since then I developed a sincere passion towards this beautiful game, reaching a humble yet satisfying achievement of 1400 ELO on this website.
I used to study openings, watch chess content and gobble up every video I could; some friends even bought me two chess books as a present for my bachelor degree! But during this time I also found other interests, and with an incoming increase of stuff i have to do for university/work, i am losing passion in the game, which of course is a shame, considering all the effort I put into it and how much I used to play chess.
I don't analyze my games anymore, nor I study opening and memorize new theory. I simply find myself doing other stuff during my free time.
Which, of course, is having repercussions on my ELO as well, when I come back on chess.com, since I tend to blunder more easily
during my "golden period", I used to play every day!
So my question is, what's going on? Do you guys have any suggestions on how to keep my flame lit?
