The game's possible positions, with 24 pieces moving on 32 black squares, amount to 500 billion. The total possible moves in checkers, though vast, represent only the square root of the possible chess moves. There are something on the order  10 to the 120th power possible chess moves in a single game. Scientist estimate the mumber of atoms in the known universe to be 10 to the 75th power.

Einstien said that God does not play dice, I wonder if he plays chess, if not   I bet I can wup him in checkers.

Checker champion Marion Tinsley said, "Playing chess is like looking out over a limitless ocean, playing checkers is like looking into a bttomless well."
