Knight da goat!!! 🐐

We can predict the movement of a Bishop but a knight is unpredictable.

Knight is better in opening and in closed middle game positions bishop is better in open middle game positions and way better in endgame and they can avoid each other most of the time

True

Basically:

Is the center open?

Yes- Can the knight find an outpost in the center or near the enemy king?

->No- Bishop is better

->Yes- Knight and bishop are basically equal, unless knight is kicked (Bishop better) or knight controls weak squares near king and threatens powerful attack (Knight better)

No- Knight is better, if not controlled by pawns

ToastBread_1

Depends.

But in most situations, Bishop is better as it controls more squares but both pieces are special and good.

chesswlh4: Knight is better in opening and in closed middle game positions bishop is better in open middle game positions and way better in endgame and they can avoid each other most of the time knowing when to use different strengths is key—whether in a match or when making smart moves at slotvibe-at to maximize your chances

Elephant pairs Unlike knights, can control both diagonals and quickly change flanks

Also if there is a knight on the edge of the board then you can trap it with the bishop because all of the squares it can move too will be blocked by the bishops superior square and diagonal control

Someone always asks this question every few days. The answer is always “it depends.” I’ve seen a really powerful knight in the center dominate the game even better than a rook. It just depends on the position of all the pieces.

Bishop is better in the majority of games

Bishop better if you are winning because of ability to move quick and have control over diagonals, knight is better when you are losing because of how unpredictable a knight is and how good it is at forking pieces.
