Komodo 13 Playing Strength

Hi Forum Friends,

I know there are plenty of young smarties out there who can hopefully answer this dumb oldie with a question.

Last night I bought Komodo 13 through Chessbase so I could get the Fritz 16 interface. During today I ran an Engine Tournament. I was surprised how badly it performed against the other engines available to me.

Here are the scores so far

Stockfish 10 64 1 14/15

Stockfish 9 64 Popcnt 12,5/15

Stockfish 9 64 12.5/16

Stockfish 10 64 9/14

Deep Fritz 10 8.5/15

Stockfish 10 64 Popcnt 7.5/11

Komodo 13.02 64 7/15

Komodo 13 64 6/12

Fritz 15 5.5/14

Komodo 13.02 64 bit Monte Carlo 5/14

Komodo 9.02 64 4/9

Komodo 13 64 Monte Carlo 3.5/13

Houdini 1.5a 64 1/14

Lc0 v0.21.1 0/15

Is it just Komodo 13 looks down the list because Stockfish whips its arse or is something seriously stuffed it with my settings.

I took the same basic config settings for each Engine.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated?

Ps maybe I need to run it against worse Engines to make it look good but I thought it was meant to be pretty good.

Yeah, it should be doing better than that. Check your settings: number of threads, hash table size, etc. That being said, 15 games per engine isn't a very large sample size.

Thanks for the reply. I did run it straight out against Stockfish 10 overnight and it lost 12-0.

I will see how the engine tournament finishes up overnight.

Then I will check preferred settings.

Thanks again and yes like you said I thought it would have faired better

try gave him enough time for thinking
give it about 20+ second for every play
and let it use high prcessor
stockfish 11 cant beat komodo 10 when i gave them enough time to think and make them use 100% cpu
