@SixInchSamurai That is sort of the point. Even in front of a gun's barrel one has a choice. One can refuse and likely die, but one has the choice. The fantasy writer Stephen R. Donaldson explores this concept rather neatly in a short story titled "The Killing Stroke"; published within the short story collection, "Reave the Just and Other Tales" (Voyager/Harper Collins, 1998).
