Leagues

No, not in the Wood League, but I heard that prizes are given out for reaching the Champion League. Not sure what specifically those prizes are, but it's probably something like medals and trophies, or maybe memberships?

The first 200 in Champions league get a one-year diamond membership. There are cash prizes for the first Champions division of 50 players, and if another fills up at the time that is running, then there are some additional prized noted in the release News there.
That's all there is. Legend league will eventually have events with prizes but that's still a while out before anyone makes it that far ore enough players are in it to do anything.

How did I end up in a league? What are the parameters of this league?
Everyone is automatically enrolled in a league group of 50 players; you have a week to gain as many league points as possible to advance higher on your league's leaderboard. Live, rated games in the /play server of chess.com count towards your points. You get 3 points for every win in the bullet time frames (must be 1 minute or more to count towards your league points), 9 points for every win in the blitz time frames, and 15 points for every win in the rapid time frames. Direct challenges do not count towards your points, you must be auto-matched in the /play server to earn points for your win. Variant games that can be played on the /play server do count towards your points, as long as your game is in accordance with all of the previously mentioned requirements. If you do well enough in your league, you get promoted to a higher up league level. You cannot be demoted to a lower league, even if you are completely inactive. Here are the different league levels and their requirements for promotion (you start in the Wood League and make your way up):
Wood (Top 20 in each division advance)
Stone (Top 15 in each division advance)
Bronze (Top 10 in each division advance)
Silver (Top 5 in each division advance)
Crystal (Top 3 in each division advance)
Elite (Top 3 in each division advance)
Champion (Top 1 in each division advance)
Legend - The highest league available.

Blitz probably has a slight edge but you still have to win or draw games. Also can't see the site changing the point values now, at least until the contest ends.
They tested the values for almost three months, so should have a good feel for the overall balance.

The weird thing about leagues is you don't have to be that skilled to win one. You just have to play the most.

The lower your win/draw percentage, the harder it's going to be to move up in a division. Unless you just play a lot more games than anyone else to offset that.

How many points do you need to advance to the next league.
Enough to be in the top 15 of your division at 12 pm Pacific (12 pm UTC) Sunday.

Do you get money if you are in stone league?
No. The only available money is for chess.com partnered streamers the first four weeks, and any Champion divisions the first week at least one fills up.

Players earn upto 600 points in 48hr period. Im not a blitz player there for the league is of no use to me
After winning most games, the points are added towards my league, but within 10 games, there are probably 2 or 3 games where points towards my league are not awarded. Anybody else having this issue?

Games of less than 10 moves don't count.

If you leave a division, you can only rejoin and be placed in a new one, starting from 0. There's no way to get back into the old one
