It is more interesting to play slow games over the board than on the internet, in my opinion.
Learning with slow games - but I'm b o r e d

Hmm yes this is a problem indeed.
Perhaps if at least half the moves were the grooviest moves in the universe the game wouldn`t be so boring.
One technique which can be used at all time controls is to try and play super grooooovy moves yourself.
If you do your game might be twice as exciting as watching paint dry.

If you are bored you are not thinking enough. You can't calculate every line in a 30 minute game & if you have time to get bored you are not calculating enough of them. Are you winning or losing & what level are your opponents at?

Play real OTB chess. Virtual one is indeed boring, most of the times.
Thank you, IM Pfren!

I'm losing most of the time, as my name indicates And I would agree, not thinking enough is bulls eye.

Ok, so now you need a strategy to get focussed
How serious are you about improving & do you have any goals?

As suggested, I tried playing 30 minute games. Found them rather boring, JMHO.
How to keep motivated during such games?
Maybe not play the 30 minute games if they aren't to your liking. That's probably the quickest solution. Or perhaps you can try opening a second browser window and playing Tactics Trainer if your opponent is moving slowly.
Bad_Blunderer, you have to play longer games so that you can check that you are not blundering before you move. Then once you are an experienced player, you can play blitz without blundering so often.

If you find ONE slow game boring, play another game simulataneously. If that still bores you, add another game.

One 3o minutes games are not boring and two play some correspondance games 3 day move. I have played a lot of interesting games on the internet. If all these options are boring then you do not like chess.

I recommend some 5min, and 10 min blitz once in a while. You might find you have a talent for one or both. Playing some longer live games from time to time is also good for your development. You need to test your nerves, see where you are failing that, correspondence won't necessarily point out, specifically the differences between having and not having game explorer, opening encyclopedia and analysis board.
