Lessons from Chessin'

I have learned lessons about myself from chess. Like if I get all caught up in my own plans and schemes and ignore what is going on around me, I am likely to get buried.

Like if my ego gets the better of me, and I think I've got it, I usually fall on my a**.

Like sometimes I have bad days and stuff just doesn't go right; mainly because I am not focused on what I am doing.

Like there is ALWAYS  a LOT more to learn.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar. .........

Yea, it's been my experience too that chess reveals what it means to be human. My favorite lesson is to beware illusions of certainty. I've been incorrect so many times when I thought I understood. As humans, it's terribly easy to be wrong when we're so sure we're right. Nice post, ab121705. 🙂
