I just signed up for Lichess. I hadn’t heard of it before, but I figured I could always play on that site while I’m waiting for a game to load on this one. How are the ratings on that site compared to this one?

Lichess' rating system is a little different.
Rather than all players getting a different rating based on their chosen skill level, they start you at 1500. Also, you have to play a lot more games before your rating completely settles.
