Looking for a fun Knight-vision training exercise (for a kid)

I've exhausted my personal list of training exercises to improve a student's "Knight-Vision". Looking for anything new that somebody seems to have had success teaching students with.

Here are the following training drills I used:

  • All Woolum/Bruce-Albertson-style Chess Mazes for Knights
  • Empty board with Queen vs Knight : Where the Queen and Knight take turns moving. The goal is for the Queen (Student) to capture the Knight (teacher)
  • Empty board with Knight vs King : With student and teacher taking turns, The goal is for the King (student) to avoid being checked by the Knight on each move.
  • Empty board with 2 Knights vs King : With student and teacher taking turns : same as the above, cept with two Knights.
  • Basic Find-the-Fork / Single-Motif tactics
  • Empty board with 2 Rooks vs Knight : With student and teacher taking turns, The goal is for the student (Knight) to avoid being captured by the 2 Rooks.

Any more out there?

Please do not even THINK of suggesting a Knight tour ... this is a kid we're talking about and they would rather watch grass grow than suffer through a knight-tour puzzle.

Thanks in advance!

I just found this game that I've never seen before. It looks interesting.

There's another online game where objects scroll down across a chessboard and you have to capture them using a knight. I couldn't find it and I'm out of time right now. I'll try find it later or maybe someone else here knows where it is.

I still haven't found the game I was thinking of but I found this site that has a number of chess themed games. It has the Black Knight game as well as another knight based game called Knight's Tale. I hope one of these proves useful.

I posted the above thread a few months ago showing that game to the community and included some description. =) Check it out.

Yea I was going to recommend the "crazy chess" game as well but I see you guys already have.  It's pretty great.  I still have one of the top scores on it from 3 years ago, which means i'm still awesome. Smile

Yep, that's it, Crazy Chess. Thanks. That game is a good one for learning how to quickly get a knight from one place to another.
