Looking for a name of a film I watched in 2000s that involves a dude playing chess by himself.

The movie had some horror/thriller vibes but I'm not sure.

So the movie starts off with 2 guys sitting in a dimly lit office at night, with about 5-6 desks facing each other forming a  *  in the middle of the room. One dude wore glasses and was reading a book and on the other end, another was playing chess by himself. The way he plays is rather unusual, he picks up the chess pieces by the tip and bring them up to eye-level, sways them side to side a bit, and puts the piece down to move, after the intro was done, the chess guy excited jumps up from his chair, exclaims that he had made the perfect trap explaining what moves he took to his glasses friend, who, without getting up from his chair, instantly guessed that he cheated several moves to achieve that position he just did, the guy was like; "W...wha... how did you know?". "Just guessing." was the glasses dude's reply.

That's all I could remember about the movie, I'm not really sure if the movie actually had scary/gory stuff in it since I might have it mixed up with another movie.
