You can click on the starting square, where the piece is before the move and then on the square, where you want your piece to be. This way, you don't have to drag the piece and you are safe from mouse slips.

I lost a game due to this stupid interface. Sometimes when I drag a piece it goes to a square before I raise my finger. This happens also in online chess, but in online chess it isn't a problem because you have to click submit move, in live chess no, so when it happens you lose the game.
