Unless he releases his username, at whatever site, my guess is that's going to be unknowable.
Me too would love to know his username. It would be cool to know if I'm playing chess with Luka Doncic! I'm a total fan of his basketball game.
He's leading the NBA in scoring right now. Not only the game average but also that PER stat which is supposed to take ALL stats into account (avg scoring, assists, shooting %, turnovers, etc.). Its like an overall rating for basketball players.

If the basketball player was really an IM, that would be easy to verify and he's not. That IM is apparently a fan of the player 
That's what I figured. Anybody who's a sports superstar doesn't have enough extra time to become an IM in chess.

I saw doncic in a documentary today and he was playing chess on his phone on either the chess.com site or the app! I’d recognize that chess board anywhere 😀
I saw an interview with Luka posted a day ago and a reporter asked him a question about twitter. He said he doesn't know about that he just uses his phone to play chess. Then he was asked who wins, the phone or him. Luka said he plays chess online and that he wins most of them. So I'm guessing that if he had an interest in playing online he'd Google chess sites and chess.com seems the most likely site to join. This site has the perfect name, can't get better than chess.com for a chess site, so it makes sense he'd be on here. I'm thinking he wouldn't use his real name. There's an IM on here that uses Luka Doncic as their name but that ain't him, no way he could be that good at chess AND be a superstar at basketball.
Anybody got any ideas on which account might be his?
