It's just more of Carlsen's promotion of his Fischer Random tournaments to try to get more views. I don't think it has much to do with "reasoning" above that. The idea of deciding the classical World Chess Championship using Rapid time controls - when there is already a Rapid and Blitz World Championship - doesn't make even a small piece of sense to anyone.

What is he thinking? Classical Chess has always decided the World Chess Championship. Is it not chess in its purest form? How is classical chess "too forgiving"
