Why only iOS? I bet they made some agreement or something. As it happens I don't have any iOS devices so I can't test it.

There are some videos of Carlsen discussing games of Tal, classics of the 19th century and stuff like that, but only some of the basic videos can be watched in the free version of the app.

that's true, but also it will boost Magnus Carlsen's popularity. Do you have the Levon Aronian App? or the Hikaru Nakamura app? or the vladamir kramnik app? no! this was a really good idea by Magnus i think

TheChessMAINFRAME i mean this will make him popular.

I think the only chessplayer popular enough to make such an app is Carlsen, maybe Kramnik because of the history behind him and Nakamura for being American could also do games... But the chessplayer with "commercial" possibilities is Carlsen quite far from the rest. So it is not only that this can make him more popular but he can also lauch these products because of his already earned popularity
