I should mention that it's a Macbook Air. About 2 or 3 years old. I don't know how often they update the software for the game.
Magnus Carlsen vs Macbook Chess Game

mac chess is based on Sjeng’s engine. It’s very strong even on your laptop.. 2800-3000 Elo. Carlsen would perhaps be able to win from time to time.

Wow that's actually really close in rating. Thank you. Would be interesting to see the result

Sorry for bumping again, but how did you know that? I mean about the chess engine in mac chess game? I searched all the Internet and can't find out that information.

I played the Mac Chess computer at "think 8 seconds per move". The AI plays like an advanced player at that setting and it starts to think a lot from move 3 and onwards. Eventually, the computer starts to make a lot of blunders on that setting. This allows me to trade pieces and pressure the king with a queen along with other powerful pieces like additional queens, rooks, bishops, and knights.
Hi I was wondering if the chess game that came with my Macbook is better than Magnus Carlsen. I of course mean at it's highest difficulty. I can beat it pretty consistently at level 2, but at level 3 it gets much tougher. I guess my question is: Could Magnus Carlsen beat my Macbook chess game at level 3 and higher?
