I read the thread and got the program they suggested, BUT I can't figure out how to get rid of the suggested moves when trying to do my own analysis of a position. Feels a lot like cheating and I don't like it. Please help. How do I turn that stuff off Chess Base Light? I even deleted the engines that came with it and still gives suggested move.
Just do the same command that you used to create the colored square or arrow, and it should toggle it off.
I know how to use, and undo, the marking of squares and arrows. I don't know how to disable the features that mark the programs suggested moves. For example I input a game the is in progress so I can evaluate the position, and it automatically marks a suggested next move. That feels a lot like cheating. I want to know how to stop that so when I'm studying a position the only annotations that are visable are the ones I'm making.

OK, I misunderstood what you were asking. Well, I'm not really a Chessbase user; In the past, I've only used Fritz. It took me about 15 minutes to find the stuff you want to disable in Chessbase Light.
I think if you go into the Help menu and disable "Threat as arrow" and "Create threat as arrow", then go into the "Tools", "Options", "Engines" menu and uncheck the "Heumas Ply" setting, that should do the trick. I hope that works for ya!
I would like to have a way to mark squares and make arrows like you see in chess videos.
I'm relativly new to chess, but I have a premium mebership for getting my games analyzed when they are over, BUT when I want to deeply analyze a position myself while playing I find I don't have the tools to do so. I would like to just use the "Get PNG" feature from chess.com, and then open it in a exterior program where I can do something similar to the "Analyze" feature, but with the ability to mark squares and make arrows. I would preffer a free program if there is one available because money is a bit tight right now.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.
