Mephisto Supermondial II

Hi guys (and gals)

I just bought a Mephisto Supermondial II on ebay, it's this machine

http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/supermondial_ii.html

https://www.schach-computer.info/wiki/index.php/Mephisto_Super_Mondial_II

The manual is only in German, and the only electronic versions (PDF) I was able to find online are in German (again) and Dutch.

Does anyone have a copy of the manual in english, preferably scanned, or knows where to find one ?

That would be nice happy.png

Thanks.

Thank you for the effort, but if you look at my original post maybe you will recognize the same link. wink.png

And no, unfortunately it's not enough, the manual it's around 40 pages and explains all the options, settings, etc. as you can imagine.

Why you spend money on this ?

I paid 100 euro for it plus shipping, don't know how useful this information may be since the prices vary a lot on ebay.

I was hoping someone may have the manual and maybe was even willing to scan it for me.

Not only for me because I would make it available in this big collection available here -> http://www.zanchetta.net/default.aspx?Categorie=ECHIQUIERS&Page=documentations

I did scan some manuals myself and made them available there.

This is going even more offtopic.

Anyway, because I can and I like it ?

Maybe this one can help:

@eltodesukane

Thank you for the suggestion, maybe the MM IV it's even more similar, and yes it's true that being all Ed Schröder's programs there are similarities, and knowing one software can help using another... but what I'm really looking for is the original manual of the machine in english.

I'm not even 100% sure it exists, but Mephisto manuals are available in english for other Mephisto chess computers and I would find very peculiar they made it only in German and Dutch for this one.

So what I'm asking is really the manual for this particular machine.

But I appreciate your interest and willing to help, thank you !

By the way: in the meantime I used an OCR to get a rough conversion of the scanned pages to german text and applied a quick google translate pass to it. With some manual tweaking now I have at least something which can give me a general idea, enough to answer some doubts about some options.

It's horrible and broken but if I'll never found the english manual now at least I can work with the german one.

Maybe someone with the same machine will pass from here one day ...

Or maybe not ... sad.png

Anyway I discovered the Mephisto Monte Carlo IV has probably the same program.

http://alain.zanchetta.free.fr/docs/mephisto/Mephisto_Monte_Carlo_IV_EN.pdf

The options / settings are the same and the strength seems to be the same.

The only difference I found is the  Supermondial II has an "easy" mode missing in the other one.

The program author in both cases is Ed Schroder.
